A lot of people think the only time they can be involved in democracy is on voting day, but that’s not true: your voice always matters to me and to the government. Your views help shape our policies.
There are many ways you can share your thoughts.
I run regular weekday mobile offices around the electorate, so it’s easy for you to drop by and see me without making an appointment.
I also host a monthly ‘Cuppa with Bert’ at different coffee shops on a Saturday morning. You can follow me on Facebook to find out when these are happening.
Next week you’ll be receiving a Forde’s Biggest Survey form in your letterbox.
I’d love if you could fill that out and return to me so that I can get a gauge on how you feel about a broad range of issues.
Or you can fill it out online – the link is here: http://lbr.al/s120. Return your survey before April 30 to go in the draw to receive a $100 gift voucher.
We’ve just opened public consultation on the next National Plan to reduce family, domestic and sexual violence in Australia.
All Australians can add their views and voices to the consultation via an online questionnaire, available on the Engage website – engage.dss.gov.au.
Women who have experienced violence, family safety advocates, service providers and other stakeholders will also be invited to take part in a two-day National Women’s Safety Summit to be held on July 29-30.
We’re also seeking public engagement from people on the regulation and accreditation of assistance animals.
This will improve certainty for people with disability using assistant animals by creating a nationally consistent approach. If you have an interest in this, you can respond via engage.dss.gov.au.
Your views always matter. Please feel free share them.
