OUR economy and our communities are built on small and family businesses having a go.Â
Whether it is producing goods or providing services, our communities thrive when small business thrives.Â
We must support them and the jobs and opportunities they provide, particularly in our own backyard here in Forde.Â
Under the Albanese Labor government, business conditions are declining.Â
Electricity prices for small businesses have increased by up to 52%. Small businesses are also facing increased red tape and demands from union bosses.Â
There have been 26,000 insolvencies since Labor was elected. The last financial year saw the highest number of small business insolvencies on record.Â
We must do better for our small and family businesses.Â
A Coalition Government will support small businesses by enabling them to claim up to $20,000 a year as a tax deduction for meal and hospitality expenses (excluding alcohol).Â
These expenses will also be exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax.Â
Hospitality is a huge part of the economy and yet like so many businesses at the moment, they are hurting.
Small business is in our DNA as Liberals, and we want to help those businesses survive Labor’s time in office and thrive when we get back into Government.
The Coalition will also increase the Instant Asset Write Off to $30,000 and make it permanent.Â
We will also revert to a simple definition of a casual worker, reducing complexity and making it easier for businesses to hire more people.Â
When small businesses grow, they create jobs, support local families, and bring life to our communities.Â
A Coalition Government will get Australia back on track and support local businesses and the nearly five million Australians they employ.Â
