Yarrabilba teenager, Phibee Easton has the world eating out of her hands, becoming an entrepreneur at 14 with the success of her small baking business.
In 2023 when she was just 12 years old, Phibee started a little hobby business called Phi Bee’s Bakery – baking biscuits, banana bread, brownies and muffins – for her friends and family after school and on the weekends.
With the encouragement of her family, Phibee signed up for Yarrabilba State Secondary College’s Market Mayhem event that same year – and won first prize.
The annual market is an initiative in partnership with Future Anything – an organisation dedicated to fostering future-focused and innovative ideas among youth – providing a platform for students to present their projects and showcase their business ideas.
Since then, Phibee has been selling her baked goods at pop-up stalls and markets around Yarrabilba and online.
“My hope and dreams with Phi Bee’s Bakery is to grow my business with the goal to own my own bakery shop,” she said.
“I am saving my profits to complete my certificate III in business and to complete my apprenticeship to become a qualified baker.”
Phibee’s mum and dad, Ash and Kyle Easton said Phibee has always been passionate about baking.
“Phibee was always under my feet in the kitchen from the moment she was able to walk,” Mrs Easton said.
“She is very passionate when it comes to her baking and the standards she presents with every order she fills.
“As Phibee’s, parents we have always encouraged her to dream big and hit those goals and we fully support her ambitions of one day opening her own bakery shop.”
Mrs Easton said whilst Phibee is focusing on school at the moment, she is still fulfilling orders and hosting stalls where she can.
“She has big dreams and the world is at her hands,” she said.
Phi Bee’s Bakery next pop-up stall will be at Coles Yarrabilba on Saturday 4 April, from 7am.
