Construction has begun on a major intersection upgrade in Logan Reserve, aimed at improving safety for drivers and pedestrians as the area grows.
Logan City Council is upgrading the Logan Reserve Road and School Road intersection, near Logan Reserve State School, where traffic congestion peaks during school hours.
Mayor Jon Raven said the project would support the area’s rapid population growth. “This upgrade is about making sure locals can get where they need to go in a safe and reliable way,” he said.
The works are funded through the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, which targets high-risk crash locations.
Division 8 Councillor Jacob Heremaia said residents had long called for improvements at the site.
The upgrade will include traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, extended turning lanes and road resurfacing.
