The Federal Budget is only a few weeks away from being handed down, almost twelve months after Anthony Albanese and the Labor Government came into power and let’s hope they don’t forget Forde.
As your Federal Member for Forde, I’ve personally written to the Treasurer, Jim Chalmers and asked him not to forget our electorate when handing down the next Federal Budget on Tuesday 9 May 2023.
Throughout the 2022 Campaign, the LNP committed to funding several vital upgrades within our region, which if delivered, would significantly improve local infrastructure and also assist many of the wonderful local sporting clubs within our region.
I do not want to see these projects underdelivered.
Some of the projects which I have asked for funding for include:
- Upgrade M1 Motorway Exit 38 (Yatala) $55 Million
- Upgrade the Beenleigh Tennis Club $5 Million
- Upgrade Beenleigh’s Hammel Park Sport Precinct $3.6 Million
- Installation of CCTV Cameras across Logan Council Area $1 Million
- Upgraded changerooms at the Beenleigh Buffaloes AFL Club $500,000
- Lighting Upgrade for Ormeau Bulldogs AFL Club $250,000
Now is not the time to underdeliver on projects that are vital for our region and community.
If funding is secured, the Forde Electorate will continue to thrive, and these organisations will benefit from the hard work that was previously done by the Coalition Government led by Former PM Scott Morrison.
I look forward to reporting back after the budget as to whether the Prime Minister, Treasurer and Federal Government have delivered for the Forde Electorate and who in our community will benefit.
