‘Unicorn’ Heritage Park property offers self-contained granny flat

After more than 20 years in one home, Tracey Stevenson said family life had shaped almost every part of the property at 49 Heritage Boulevard, Heritage Park, that her family is now selling.

The home has been redesigned over time to support multi-generational living, with Ms Stevenson and her family adding a self-contained granny flat for her parents about a decade ago.

The separate dwelling includes its own kitchen, laundry and wheelchair-accessible features, including ramps and wider doorways.

Ms Stevenson said the setup allowed her parents to stay close while maintaining independence.

She described the granny flat as one of the property’s most unique features, saying few homes in the area offered the same level of accessibility and self-sufficient living.

“We like to call it a unicorn,” she said.

“We’re the only place that our realtor has seen that actually has a self-sufficient granny flat with a laundry and a big kitchen in Heritage Park.”

The main home includes four bedrooms, multiple living spaces and an updated kitchen with a walk-in pantry that Ms Stevenson said she would miss most.

“I’ll miss my pantry,” she said. “You always come together in the kitchen and cook a meal and eat a meal together.”

“We love to cook together,” she said.

She said the pergola had become a favourite place for morning coffee, especially during summer.

“You can go out in the pergola and have coffee, and the summer’s warm, and you get that gentle breeze,” she said.

Native birdlife and the privacy of the backyard were also features the family had enjoyed over the years.

The property also includes a large carport, solar power and landscaped gardens.

The family is now preparing to move interstate, where Ms Stevenson said they planned to continue living together under one roof.

Families seeking generational living perks have been particularly interested in the property so far, Ms Stevenson said.

“They want to have the family move in with them, and everybody take care of each other and love each other,” she said.

“Hopefully, the person who buys our house has the same thought process.”
