Police have charged the parents of a three-year-old boy, who died in Beenleigh’s police station foyer in October, with manslaughter.
Police allege the boy died from life-threatening head injuries following a car crash on Eastern Service Road at Stapylton about 5am on Saturday, 25 October 2025.
Police allege his mother, a Labrador woman who was 22 at the time of the accident, was driving the car, while the boy’s father, a Beenleigh man, 24, and his one-year-old brother were passengers.
Detective acting superintendent Mark Mooney said a member of the public who was driving behind the car at the time of the crash stopped to make sure everyone was okay.
The member of the public then drove the Labrador woman and her three-year-old son to the Beenleigh police station, where the boy died from his injuries.
About 6.30am the morning of the crash, police found the Beenleigh man and his one-year-old son at a Beenleigh address.
The one-year-old child was taken to the hospital and was cleared, police said.
Police from the Gold Coast Protection and Investigation Unit, as well as other specialist units, launched an investigation into the incident.
As a result of their investigations, police have charged the Labrador woman with domestic violence-related manslaughter, drug trafficking and driving without a license.
Police charged the Beenleigh man with domestic violence-related manslaughter and drug trafficking.
They are both expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today, Friday, 27 February.
Police said investigations were ongoing.
