Are you over 30? Want to stay protected against Covid? Then please go and get your winter booster shot.
A fourth shot of the vaccine is now available to the majority of Queensland adults, and we need everyone to roll up their sleeves once more.
We’re in the grips of another major Covid wave, which combined with the significant spread of influenza in our state has put Queenslanders again at risk of infection.
That’s why mask-wearing is being recommended in crowded settings, why we’re asking you to remain home if you’re sick, and why vaccination is still so vital.
Our community of Logan has done an incredible job throughout the pandemic: getting tested, staying home, wearing a mask, and of course getting vaccinated.
But this pandemic isn’t over. It continues to linger. And we’ve got to do everything we can to see it through to the other side.
Maintaining your vaccination shield will help us beat Covid, but more pressingly it’s vital to safeguard your health, especially if you’re elderly or vulnerable.
The case numbers and hospitalisations we’re seeing now are reminiscent of the first Omicron wave we experienced in summer, and the only way we’ll stem the spread is by keeping up with our Covid booster program.
So when can you get your next round of the vaccine? Three months after your last booster.
However, if you’ve recently had Covid (and that’s a lot of us), then you have to wait three months since you got the all clear.
If you tick those timelines, you can get your shot now.
Fourth dose Covid vaccinations are also available to over 16s who are immunocompromised or living with a disability.
The Covid vaccine remains free for all Queenslanders, and you don’t need a Medicare card either.
GPs and pharmacies across Logan are administering doses, and bookings can be made online via vaccinebookings.health.qld.gov.au.
If you have any questions regarding your latest booster dose, visit health.qld.gov.au or give our Covid hotline a call on 134 COVID (134 268).
Thank you for continuing to follow the health advice.
