In small and local business, your time is incredibly important.
Often, long days are spent on the day-to-day workings of your business.
This can make expanding your professional network, a vital aspect in growing your company, quite difficult.
That is where a strong local chamber of commerce can play a significant role.
Our local chambers of commerce in Logan are in a healthy position following their recent AGMs.
The Logan Chamber of Commerce recently held their AGM and networking event at Clarks Logan City Bus Service.
We heard from Clark’s Finance Manager, Kaylee Clark and Simon Holt, founder of this publication, on their experiences and insights in adapting to the latest developments in their respective industries.
The AGM was also an opportunity to reflect on the Chamber’s achievements and plan for the future, by electing a committee to guide them for the next 12 months.
Congratulations to the newly elected committee, including:
President: Arwen McGregor
Vice President: Alexis Matthews-Frederick
Treasurer: Krish Ravipati
Secretary: Justine Sandry
General Committee members: Willem van der Merwe, Rhiannon Elton and Janeen Vosper.
You will all play a role in continuing to foster growth in the Logan area.
They also recognised Stewart Fleming from Stewart Fleming Master Coach and Reg Clark, founder of Clarks Logan City Bus Service with Life Memberships – two worthy recipients.
Following this success, Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce then held their terrific AGM and networking event.
Guest speaker for the AGM breakfast was Emily Bitkow from ASURIA, a government-assisted employment agency which partners businesses with suitable candidates for employment.
The newly elected committee which will steer the Chamber for the next year are:
President: Aki Sihto
Vice President: Shane Drew
Treasurer – Heather Christensen
Secretary: Kerrie Saverin
General committee members: Ronnie Visser, Willem Van Der Merwe, Megan Zwart, Leanne Taylor and John Mulraney.
A special mention to Kerrie Saverin as outgoing President on your service for the past three years.
Congratulations to the elected committee and to everyone involved in making it a successful event.
Local businesses in our community have invaluable resources through the Logan and Beenleigh Yatala Chambers of Commerce.
