Investigations into the disappearance of local woman Dawn Wells continued publicly today as police searched areas of Slacks Creek and Underwood for information that could lead them to Ms Wells.
Police have also released video of Dawn Wells hours before she was last seen at a bus stop on Kingston Road, Woodridge, at around 8pm on 9 December 2025.
Acting Inspector Warren Parker said a police dog squad, dive squad, and SES personnel with aerial drones were assisting in today’s search for Ms Wells in and around the intersection of Compton Road and Kingston Road.
“Dawn is actually 70 years of age,” Mr Parker said. “She does have health vulnerabilities, which require constant medication, and we know from our extensive and intensive inquiries in relation to this matter that Dawn hasn’t engaged with her regular appointments to have that medication.
“We do have concerns around her health at the moment, and we think this may have led to her disappearance and the surrounding factors behind it.”
Mr Parker said police had followed up on information that Ms Wells had been seen in Hervey Bay, Brisbane City, the Gold Coast, Sydney, and Melbourne.
“Anything is possible, we haven’t ruled anything in or out,” Mr Parker said. “Every lead that comes through, we follow.
“From all the investigations that we’ve made to date, there is nothing to indicate that there is any suspicious activity in relation to Dawn’s disappearance.”
Police said they hoped to locate personal items Ms Wells was wearing or carrying on the day she disappeared in today’s search and prompt community members to come forward with information about Ms Wells’ whereabouts.
“Dawn is a beloved member of the Logan Central Community,” Mr Parker said.
Ms Wells was wearing a black t-shirt with the words “Justice Compassion Love”, a cap with green text, blue denim shorts, pink shoes, and a khaki coloured bum bag.
Ms Wells does not have her own car but often walks or uses public transport, like buses, to get to shops or churches.
Police said Ms Wells had not used her transport card since the day of her disappearance.
