Two men wanted for allegedly shooting dead a woman have been found in a Logan park two weeks later and arrested.
Police will allege a 29-year-old Marsden man and a 32-year-old Caboolture man shot a woman, 32, outside a Caboolture property shortly after 12am on 22 December.
She died at the scene.
Initially, police said investigations suggested the woman was shot after being assaulted by two males.
“Detectives do not believe this to be a random attack and inquiries indicate those involved were known to each other,” police said in a statement released later that day.
On 28 December, police released images of two men they said “may be able to assist with investigations”.
Police called for the men to come forward and their arrest warrants were issued.
Police suspected the men were camping in northern New South Wales and could be travelling in a white Holden Commodore wagon with Queensland registration 953 HO4.
Detective Inspector David Harbison said at the time that investigators were very interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen either the men or the car.
“Obviously, these men have travelled some distance from Caboolture to across the border and would’ve interacted with members of the public along their journey,” Detective Inspector Harbison said.
“I would appeal to anyone in northern New South Wales or even those in southern Queensland who believe they may have seen these men or this vehicle to come forward to police,”
“Any little bit of information can go far in helping us in this investigation.”
On 6 January, police said the men were taken into custody in parklands off Civic Parade in Logan Central at around 2pm.
“Investigators have worked tirelessly to locate the accused and police appreciate the assistance we have received from the community,” Detective Inspector Harbison said.
The Holden wagon the men were allegedly travelling in prior to their arrest has not yet been found, according to police.
Anyone who travelled along Railway Parade between 11.40pm on Saturday 21 December to 12.15am on Sunday 22 December is urged to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
