Logan welcomes 10 new police

Ten new police officers have hit Logan streets following one of the state’s largest Queensland Police Service induction ceremonies in almost 30 years.

Nearly 130 officers will be rolled out across the state after completing the eight-month training program.

New officers will be stationed at Beenleigh, Browns Plains, Crestmead, Jimboomba, Logan Central, Loganholme, Logan Village and Springwood.

QPS Deputy Commissioner Cheryl Scanlon welcomed the new first year constables to the service.

“This cohort brings a wealth of diverse experience gained through former careers in areas such as defence and emergency services, skilled trades, hospitality and retail, and fields of study including criminology, health, and business management,” she said.

“It is also heartwarming to see so many of the new officers following in the steps of family members who are current or former police officers.

“I wish each of you the best and thank you for your dedication to your training and service.”
