FIRSTLY, thank you for a great local newspaper – it keeps us up to date. Secondly – Logan Plan.
What can we say? When our councillor does not turn up to her advertised meeting. That is a letter to her constituents and it states in bold black type details of the meeting. How bad for many of us affected by the proposed plan to give up work and make our way to a meeting that had apparently been held 24 hours prior without any notification to us or updates to council.  The proposed plan, if approved, has a significant impact on the lives of many.
Many great Australians who have called Logan home for years and been part of building this city. Your paper has been accommodating in publishing letters/comments/updates, however the wider community would be disgusted if they knew the extent/content of the proposed plan. A 900 page document.
Some plans include re zoning affecting one side of the street and not the other.
Please, councillors of Logan, think long and hard and research and be prepared to vote on this proposal with a clear conscience for the good of existing rate payers and future ones. Â
We challenge you to push hard, federal and state governments to work with council to build/develop housing without disrupting lives of the vulnerable elderly.
Signed, concerned Springwood resident.
On top of all the previous hazards of driving on Park Ridge ‘Road’, can on passing through be added a further, serious one.
The excellent traffic lights that control entry and exit from the new school are at serious risk of students/parents being hit by speeding traffic. This is in spite of the clear signage providing clear speed limits.
So far, the worst example has been the truck that was following very close behind my car, did not reduce speed from 60 kph to the required 40 kph, as school and other traffic complied with the mandated limits.
This dangerous behaviour is evident almost every day. We need police to locate there on a frequent basis as a fatality is a real possibility every school day.
David Stevens, Park Ridge
