Who wins with high energy prices?

High energy prices might be hurting consumers, but they’re great for AGL.

The energy giant expects to double its profit next year. (abc news article 16/6/2023).

For all those who helped save the national electricity grid a decade ago by installing solar power when its viability was untested at this level, this is complete disdain.

What word would you use to describe the taking of saleable goods for NON (zero) payment? Would the word THEFT be suitable?

For the citizens who still have state government Feed In Tariffs, this is what AGL and other electrical billing conglomerates will be doing to you starting next month.

Any excess kilowatts generated back to the grid will be taken & on sold with total benefit for them & nothing for you. (Be assured that state govt FIT will continue but there is no FIT payment from these mega billing distribution companies).

No wonder they can double their profit, just steal it from the defenceless people who try to get ahead when offered a win win offer to help out the country.

As these conglomerates write their own rules though, they will tell you it is solely their right to decide who and how much is remunerated.

Installations within the last decade are still offered lower value FITs. Is that not bordering on discrimination?

Perhaps only electricity generated on newer installations have value worth purchasing?

Who knows how to set up a class action to combat blatant theft and/or discrimination?
