Footage: 68 bikie-related charges

A total of 68 people, some from Logan, were charged with over 140 offences during a police crackdown on outlaw motorcycle gangs, allegedly including Hells Angels and Lone Wolf.

A QPS taskforce, with help from New Zealand law enforcement agencies, executed a week-long series of warrants and arrests focusing on finding drugs, guns and organised crime that posed a “significant threat to the safety of the community”.

Police executed a search warrant at a Mundoolun property on Monday 31 July and found a number of Hells Angels branded vests, patches and clothing – further inquiries are continuing in relation to other matters involving the occupant of the property

A 46-year-old Oxenford man was charged later that same day after an alleged two bricks of cocaine (weighing 218 grams) were located at a local property, along with scales, another small quantity of cocaine, and vials and pills of restricted medications.

On Tuesday 1 August, police found two unlawful rifles hidden underneath a pool table at a property in Crestmead.

Police will further allege nunchuckas and LSD were also found at the property.

A 45-year-old local man, alleged to be a Hells Angels OMCG associate, has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing restricted item (nunchuckas), possess category B weapon and possess drug utensil.

He is due to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 22.

Three days later a 32-year-old Upper Caboolture man was charged after police found 14 unlawful guns and a large amount of ammunition in a search warrant.

Organised Crime Gangs Group detective superintendent Troy Pukallus said each charge incrementally protects the public from the impacts of gangs and organised criminal activity.

“We continually target and combat organised crime – this week was about exerting more pressure.  On a daily basis, the Queensland Police Service relentlessly disrupts and pursues gang members and associates who commit serious crimes that put our community at risk,” Mr Pukallus said.

“These 68 arrests should be a message to anyone thinking of associating with outlaw motorcycle gangs or engaging in organised crime – you have a choice to stop and/or exit completely; otherwise expect the ongoing attention and intervention of Gangs investigators.”

Detectives from QPS Gangs and Organised Crime Group have released body-worn footage from four search warrants.
