A POLICE warrant on an Edens Landing house had led to the arrest of two people alleged to be involved in unlawful firearm manufacture.
Local police, along with Australian Border Force, seized weapons as part of an operation across Logan and the Gold Coast.
Two houses – one at Edens Landing and another at Mount Nathan – were searched on 8 June.
Officers from the Firearms and Cannabis Team (FACT) allegedly found a crossbow, slingbow, braced slingbow, and a quantity of items used to manufacture firearms at the Edens Landing property.
The other search at the Gold Coast allegedly uncovered a domestically made shotgun and pistol, seven domestically made firearm barrels, plans and items used to manufacture firearms, as well as ammunition.
The investigation was brought to Queensland Police attention by the Australian Border Force, which identified items of interest being imported through air and sea cargo between 2018 and 2023.
A 51-year-old Edens Landing man has been charged with one count each of possessing Category M weapons (cross bows and flick knife) and importing Tier 2 Goods (firearm parts).
He was given a notice to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday 12 July.
A 72-year-old Mount Nathan man was also charged.
