SCHOOL bus services are set for a shake-up this term.
Services, highly criticised due to Covid cut-backs blamed on a shortage of drivers, have resumed to full capacity.
And Translink has added three new routes in addition to minor changes to existing routes ahead of the first term which it says are a result of collaboration with school bus operators.
Translink chief Sally Stannard urged students and parents to check Translink’s journey planner for changes to their school’s services.
“With the new services and other changes to school bus routes, now is the time for all students and parents to head online to ensure you are familiar with any changes to timetables or services,” Ms Stannard said.
“The changes to school buses are based on factors including changes in demand and improving safety.
“Most of the changes to services in Logan are minor changes to address on-time running.”
The new school routes include a service that will accommodate students who previously used route 577.
Marsden State School and Marsden State High School students will receive two new afternoon services, increasing opportunities to access Loganlea Station.
Ms Stannard encouraged students and parents to get up to speed ahead of the first day of school by double checking what time their service runs, and which stops it leaves from.
