A Hillcrest man, 29, has been charged following two attempted armed robberies police allege took place at a unit block in Crestmead last night.
At around 10.10pm on Sunday, 2 November, police allege a man, armed with what looked like a shotgun, threatened and demanded money from residents of a unit on Trulson Drive, before leaving the scene.
Three hours later, at around 1.05am this morning (Monday 3 November), police allege the same man returned to the Trulson Drive unit block and again threatened residents.
Police arrested the man at 1.13am after witnessing him running down the road where the attempted robberies took place.
During a search of the area, police found a gel-blaster, which is a toy gun similar to those used in paintball or laser tag, according to Logan City Council, and a Toyota Kluger. Police said they seized both items.
No one was injured during either incident.
The man was charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of entering with intent. He is expected to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, Monday, 3 November.
