Who was the pre-Christmas grinch?

As usual on Monday, my wife and I go to Waterford Plaza for lunch in the cafe.

This Monday, we arrived after 1pm, later than we usually do. As we were walking into the centre, we could hear music.

Not only music, but violin music. Someone was playing a Christmas carol.

How pleasant, I thought.

We came to sight Santa Claus in his chair, resplendent, greeting passers by, and next to him standing, a musician was playing carols on his violin, and a young girl was singing along to the carols.

The three of them made a joyous Christmas sight.

There were very few people in the plaza, and we settled in at the cafe, listening to the music.

Later, I was to find out that someone had complained about the musician playing, and was ordered to stop playing and to leave.

How small minded to put a stop to this wonderful Christmas atmosphere, which the musician took upon himself to create, with no monetary gain to himself.
