Where’s the proof on climate change

The climate statement in last week’s paper was interesting – lots of statistics but vague assertions also.

After three years drought, below average rainfall and massive bushfires a 1.15 degree temperature increase seems very low to me.

Sea temperature up only one degree in 120 years – tiny and statistically irrelevant.

The author comments that the climate is increasingly affected by global warming and natural drivers (unspecified).

The official “accepted” view is that greenhouse gases (meaning carbon dioxide) are the undoubted cause of claimed increases in global temperatures. This theoretical view does not pass the reality test.

Earth’s atmosphere is comprised of Nitrogen 78%, Oxygen 21%, other gases include Argon 0.9%, Carbon dioxide 0.03%, Hyurogen 0.01%. Clearly for carbon dioxide to have any impact, there would have to be massive increase.

The eminent scientists who alarmingly claimed that atmospheric carbon dioxide had increased from about 350 parts per million to about 500 parts per million must have all failed mathematics – an increase of 150 ppm is 15 parts per hundred thousand and a pathetically tiny 1.5 parts per 10,000. How could that affect anything?

Carbon dioxide has absolutely nothing to do with global warming (if it exists) and burning coal and gas is not detrimental.

The whole idea has zero credibility. Why did world leaders and governments give this any heed, much less accept and act on this nonsense.

(This tiny increase in carbon dioxide is easily explained. The ability of trees and other vegetation to absorb world carbon dioxide has been severely reduced by the massive deforestation in the Amazon basin and the Philippines.)

The regrettable result of government acceptance of the carbon dioxide theory is that incredibly this nonsense theory is regarded as fact.

It is taught in schools, and degrees in climate change are now on offer. We now have a worldwide industry based on “climate change, and national and international agreements to reduce carbon dioxide”. How could such nonsense be actioned without proper scrutiny?

Geologists tell us that the last ice age ended about 10,000 years ago. No human or animal life existed at that time. So what was the cause of the earth’s warming?

The same force that dictates and controls all our climate – the Earth itself.

How arrogant are we to think that humans have any influence on our climate? We are powerless against the might of earthquakes, cyclones, floods and volcanic eruptions.
