We welcome investment in Logan

A new shopping hub has officially opened in Bannockburn.

Last week I had the pleasure in joining the team at Woolworths Bannockburn for their official opening.

This investment by Woolworths into our local community has come at a time when our local economy needs it most.

This shopping precinct will not only provide the Bannockburn community with much needed services but also create essential jobs for our wider community.

Locals will also benefit from nine specialty stores including a Warra Sushi, a coffee shop, a boutique nail bar, a new medical centre, and a dental surgery.

Support for local producers is also a heavy focus for Woolworths Bannockburn with the new store featuring fresh products sourced directly from the region.

Including local favourites such as Scenic Rim 4Real Milk and the award-winning small goods supplier, Gotzinger Smallgoods from Yatala.

Woolworths is truly adapting to keep up with the way of the future not only by providing their customers with an easy and convenient way to shop for fresh Australian produce but by also ensuring that their centres have a strong environmental sustainability focus.

The Bannockburn centre features solar panels and rainwater harvesting, as well as a new asphalt alternative for the carpark which is made from recycled plastic bags, printer cartridges and recycled glass.

You can also find amazing artwork throughout the centre created by local Indigenous artist Casey Coolwell-Fisher. I encourage you all to get down there and check out the new facility!

I welcome this investment from Woolworths into our community and acknowledge their strong ongoing contribution to the City of Logan.
