As we near the end of 2021, I want to thank the Logan community for their resilience and compassion during what have been two very challenging years.
Logan is a diverse and connected community – we look out for one another. And one of the wonderful things to come out of the pandemic is the generosity and kindness I have seen across our neighbourhoods. Our strong community spirit is what I love about living in Logan.
Since the pandemic, we have seen so many local organisations and volunteers come together to provide support to those in need. Organisations like Lighthouse Care and BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha preparing and distributing care packs to local families.
Substation33 bridging the digital divide, providing affordable computers for our school kids so they could have access to technology while learning at home.
And more recently we have seen locals come out in force to roll up their sleeves to get vaccinated for the health and safety of themselves, their family and their friends.
It has been great to see our schools, local businesses and organisations like Access Community Services play their part in making it easier for locals to come out and get vaccinated.
These past two years have been exceptionally challenging for our school students and teachers. In particular, I would like to give a special shout out to our year 12 graduates.
Their hard work and perseverance should be commended. It’s no easy feat to complete their senior years of high school while moving between learning at home and in the classroom. I wish all of you a very well-deserved break!
With the holiday season just around the corner, now is the time to spend quality time with your loved ones and I hope everyone can enjoy some well-earned time off with their family and friends. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and I look forward to continuing to deliver for the Logan community in 2022.
