UPDATE, Tuesday 4.15pm: The Bureau of Meteorology says severe thunderstorms have “temporarily eased”. However, the redevelopment of severe thunderstorms “remains possible”.
Tuesday, 1.30pm: A severe thunderstorm, including hail and flash-flooding, has been forecast to hit parts of Logan this afternoon.
The Bureau of Meteorology today predicted suburbs from Beenleigh to Jimboomba were likely to be impacted by the storms.

“An inland trough combined with a southerly change moving up the south-east coast in a moist and unstable air mass will produce severe thunderstorms this afternoon,” a BOM warning said.
“Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours.
“Locations which may be affected include Toowoomba, Brisbane, Ipswich, Gatton, Cleveland, Beenleigh, Oakey, Pittsworth, Jimboomba, Laidley, Lowood and Redcliffe.”
A BOM spokesperson said the “greatest risk” areas would be further inland.
“Not only could we see the damaging wind and the large hail (greater than 2cm across), we could get areas of heavy rain that lead to flash flooding,” he said.
Storms could “go well into the evening”.
