Students get head start with uni bursary

BUSINESS donations will help 14 local students start their university studies next year.

Logan City Council is managing a fund backed by Southeast Queensland businesses and organisations.

Each bursary will be worth $5000 and they’re being awarded to students starting full-time undergraduate studies this year.

Acting mayor Natalie Willcocks who is a former teacher, said successful recipients of the grant had the world at their feet.

“For some families, the costs associated with further study can be quite expensive. Council coordinates the bursary program to give a helping hand to students throughout their studies, and we thank our funding partners for their support.”
