State budget lands sorely in local lap

THE people of Logan have been let down badly by the Crisafulli LNP government.

The Crisafulli Government’s first budget is dominated by a pile of debt but no cost of living relief.

David Crisafulli promised to deliver electricity rebates, but as we are seeing again and again, this slippery Premier will say one thing and do something else.

David Crisafulli and his treasurer David Janetzski did not deliver electricity bill relief.

In fact, the Crisafulli government’s budget effectively blows away cost of living relief for millions of Queenslanders.

Adding insult to injury, in the coming weeks car rego bills will go up by around 24 percent.

It will mean an extra $88 for a typical four cylinder vehicle.

It’s a budget that cuts billions from congestion busting transport and rail projects.

It’s a budget that will make people wait longer for medical treatment.

The budget demonstrates that the Crisafulli LNP government is not committed to building the health infrastructure, particularly the hospitals, Queenslanders need.

The LNP’s budget raises more questions than answers.

Queenslanders still don’t know which health facilities will be built, when they’ll be built, how many beds they’ll provide or how much they’ll cost.

It’s a budget that does nothing to solve the acute shortage of social and affordable housing.

It’s a budget that will make it harder for Queenslanders to get around, and it’s a budget that will make it harder for Queenslanders to get ahead.

There are transport infrastructure projects in the budget that have no timeline for delivery, and no projected costings.

This is the LNP’s road to nowhere – no idea when or where it goes, and no idea how much it will cost to get there.

It’s a slippery way for a slippery LNP premier to honour his commitment to deliver projects on time and on budget – easy when there is no timeline and there is no budget.

Under the LNP it seems projects can be delivered anytime, at any cost.

It’s like playing tennis with no line markings on the court – no matter where you hit the ball, it’s never called out.

But Queensland Labor always stands willing to call out the LNP.

The people of the Woodridge electorate, the City of Logan and the people of Queensland deserve much better from the Crisafulli government.

Cost of living pressures are hurting Queenslanders.

Unfortunately, the Crisafulli LNP government is hurting Queenslanders too.
