Six-year-old boy dies after Mount Lindesay Highway crash

A six-year-old boy has died four days after a serious crash on the Mount Lindesay Highway south of Logan.

Queensland Police said the Beaudesert boy died on Friday 10 July from injuries sustained in a two-car crash at Gleneagle on Monday.

Initial investigations indicate a Subaru Impreza and Nissan Qashqai collided at the intersection of the highway and Gould Hill Road about 2.14pm on 6 July.

The boy, who was travelling in the Nissan, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the crash.

He died in hospital four days later.

The Nissan driver, a 56-year-old Gleneagle woman, and another passenger, a 13-year-old girl, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to hospital.

The Subaru driver, a 52-year-old Beaudesert man, was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact investigators.
