Residents will be asked to help shape the city’s future environmental programs when Logan City Council’s annual Eco Survey opens next month.
The survey will run from June 1 to 29 through the council’s Have Your Say Logan page, inviting residents to share feedback, ideas and experiences about how Logan protects, enhances, connects to and celebrates nature.
Mayor Jon Raven said the survey was one way the council heard directly from the community about local environmental priorities.
“Council’s Logan Eco Survey is one of the ways we hear straight from the community about what matters most when it comes to our environment,” Cr Raven said.
“What people tell us helps shape practical programs across the city.
“That includes the work we do to protect local wildlife and waterways, along with the environmental education programs we deliver for residents and schools.”
Cr Raven said this year’s survey would ask residents how they connected with nature, what they wanted to learn more about and how the council could help more people get involved in local environmental programs.
He said the council also wanted “frank and fearless feedback” about what was working well and where it could improve its environmental services and programs.
“It’s important people take part because their feedback helps guide council’s decisions and future planning,” Cr Raven said.
“Every response helps us build a better Logan for the future.”
He said said the survey would be quick to complete online or at events including the Logan Eco Action Festival, known as LEAF.
Residents who complete the survey will go into the draw to win one of three $200 gift cards.
The survey is also part of the council’s Go Green for June initiative, which encourages the community to take part in daily “random acts of green” by finding simple ways to learn, connect and make a positive impact on Logan’s natural environment.
The survey can be completed from June 1 at haveyoursaylogan.com.au/projects/ecosurvey.
