This week’s edition pays plenty of due to Beenleigh Show.
It’s one of many events which have returned this year after a period of hiatus caused by Covid.
There’s something extra special about a show, particularly when it comes around for the 143rd time in history.
The world moves on in many ways, but some things are worth keeping.
The intention of the show is to bring people together, to enjoy their community, and to learn about the world that evolves around them.
There is still an element of “country meets city” to the show, where children can learn where their meat, dairy, fruit, vegetables and grains come from.
And a number of clubs are still using the show as an opportunity to get together, and to share their skills with admiring onlookers, such as the bush poets.
Some will no doubt gravitate towards the showbags and rides, while others will look at “best in show” as they’re judged throughout the day.
Our show is not as big as the Ekka, however it’s a day our community can come together to share some knowledge and enjoy the old fashioned good spirit which comes with an event that’s evolved through the ages.
