The upcoming rugby league competition is set to rock and roll at Marsden State High School.
DJs, professional ground announcers and quality football will be on show at the Marsden SHS ground three times across next season.
Under a new three-year deal with Souths Logan Magpies, players from the school’s team – which is already one of the best in the country – will receive top-level training and development.
Marsden SHS has produced some of the finest athletes across the country including Israel Folau, Jaydn Su’A and arguably rugby leagues greatest ever player, Cameron Smith.
Marsden SHS finished runners up in this years National Schoolboys and Schoolgirls competitions.
First nation students will also paint designs for the First Nations Round to be worn by the team.
Souths Logan Magpies CEO Steven Bretherton said the return to Marsden SHS “felt like a positive one.”
“Having been the Hostplus Cup coach during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, I can say firsthand how much our players enjoy playing at what is regarded as one of the best facilities in Logan,” he said.
“Beyond rugby league, we are thrilled to continue offering real-world experiences for all Marsden State High School students.”
Marsden SHS Executive Principal Marcus Jones praised the collaboration between the school and Souths Logan Magpies.
“Souths Logan and Marsden State High collaborate across various areas, including hospitality, catering, and service, offering students valuable hands-on experience,” he said.
“Souths Logan has been a strong supporter of the school, ensuring students have access to fantastic opportunities both during their time at school and after they graduate.”
“This ongoing relationship is crucial to the success and development of our future,” he added.
