A patio with a vaulted roof sits at the heart of 75 Yarrabah Crescent and owner Anthony Ash says it is the feature that defines the home.
“Once you walk straight in, the open plan living, dining and kitchen leads directly out onto the patio,” Mr Ash said.
“That aspect of the house was what sold it for us originally.”
Built in the 1990s and renovated before Mr Ash purchased it seven years ago, the Shailer Park property was redesigned into an open-plan layout, something Mr Ash said is not always common in homes of that era.
“A lot of the homes built around that time didn’t necessarily have open plans,” Mr Ash said. “So that was definitely a unique feature.”
The kitchen island has become another central feature of the house, and one Mr Ash’s family gravitated towards.
“You can sit down at the island, invite guests or family over, and everyone sort of gathers there,” Mr Ash said. “It suited our lifestyle because we’re a big family.”
Outside, the flat backyard sets the property apart in a suburb known for its hills.
“You get the vistas looking down into the valley, which is lovely,” Mr Ash said. “But you don’t have to be a mountain goat climbing up and down your backyard.”
The 1100sqm offers space for children to play, while the four-bedroom, two-bathroom layout remains practical.
“In our humble opinion, it would definitely suit young families,” Mr Ash said. “The open kitchen, dining and living space is very conducive to that.”
After more than four decades in Logan, Mr Ash said the area still feels like home.
“Our home is Logan,” he said. “We love it, and we plan to continue to live in Logan.”
