Clarks buses will be changing a number of its services to accommodate children of essential workers before school officially starts on February 7.
New and existing school bus services will run as planned from January 24 to ensure students who need to attend school can safely do so.
In Logan, there will be a new afternoon service for students of Marsden State High School, and changes to the 4416AM to increase coverage within Crestmead area.
There will be changes to the 4412AM, 4413AM and 4414AM services to provide additional capacity for students from Rochedale State High School and Reedemer College.
A diversion to 4429AM will better service Waterford West State School.
And there will be multiple changes to the school services in the Beenleigh area to improve capacity for students from Trinity College and Beenleigh State High School.
Clarks has worked with Translink to deliver the new services.
“The safety and comfort of all students when travelling is a priority for us, which is why planning ahead and being prepared is important,” Transport Minister Mark Bailey said.
However, there could be teething problems.
“It’s important for students to remember to be patient for the first few weeks of the school year, as the network is monitored and changes may need to be made to services where demand requires it,” Mr Bailey said.
“Masks are also mandatory on all public transport and we encourage students to social distance onboard where possible.”
