Australians in Logan work hard for their money and while others are keen to tax you more at every opportunity, I’m committed to ensuring you keep more of your hard-earned cash.
That’s why I fought hard to bring forward tax cuts in this year’s Budget. Around 79,000 taxpayers in the Forde electorate alone will benefit from tax relief of up to $2,745 this year. That’s money going back into your pockets so you can spend it how you wish.
Pensioners and eligible income support recipients such as carers will also receive two additional economic support payments of $250 in December and March next year. This is in addition to the $750 payments already delivered this year. You don’t need to do anything to receive the additional payments, just make sure your details are up to date.
It’s important to remember we can only deliver the economic support Australians need right now because we have entered this crisis from a position of economic strength.
The aggregate spending from our tax cuts and economic support payments will create around 50,000 jobs across the nation alone. While it is up to you how you choose to spend your money, I encourage all residents to support their local small and family owned businesses and shop local. Together, we can drive the economic recovery in Logan.
