Ten thousand people are expected to flood Jimboomba Park this weekend for the return of the Flame BBQ and Music Festival.
The event launched in 2022, and then again in 2024 with crowds in the several thousands after a year’s hiatus.
With smoked food, country music, carnival rides, line dancing and market stalls for the entire family – the event, coming this 13 September from 1-8pm, will be Logan’s biggest of the year.
Event founder Scott Bannan, the local councillor, said it was held on Cusack Lane in 2022, but the venue proved too small.
“It was more successful than what we thought. I actually ran it first as a street festival, which is where I got the idea from.
“I was in South America. There was a big barbecue festival in Pucon in Chile. They had this big street festival, and I thought we should do this at home.
“And the demand here was crazy. It was an awesome event, but it was just too crowded.”
He said last year’s event ticked all the boxes. And this year, it would be even better.
“It’s the biggest event council has ever run,” he said.
“It’s going to be a cracker. We’ve got good music, a lot of local stuff… and we are going to have some more kids rides.”

Unlike last year, Cr Bannan said the event would be finishing an hour earlier than last year.
“Because it’s such a family event, we noticed at the end [last year] a lot of people were leaving while the band was still on. So we’ve shortened it an hour and extended it during the day to space it out.”
This year’s festival will include performances from the likes of Max Jackson, who is 2025 CMAA Golden Guitar Winner for ‘Female Artist Of The Year’ and ‘Single Of The Year’, Tamborine local Jake Whittaker, known for his stint on the latest season of Australian Idol, and other acts like Dee Jay Bux and Exit 24.
The day will also feature activities and competitions like a knife fire showcase, the battle of the mullet, team relay eating competitions for kids and adults, whip cracking, face painting and a country spouse shout.
Carnival rides available on the day will include a Kamikaze ride, Super Sizzler ride, chair swing ride, inflatable horse racing, inflatable jump pad, and more.
Tickets range from $15-25 for adults, and are free for those under age 18.
