Logan Reserve woman charged over alleged torture and neglect of child

Police have charged a Logan Reserve woman, 40, with neglect and torture of a child.

Police allege that on 9 February, a 10-year-old girl was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital with dehydration, severe malnutrition and significant untreated injuries.

Following their investigations, which included declaring a crime scene at the child’s home in Logan Reserve, police charged the woman with three counts of failing to supply necessaries and one count of torture.

She is expected to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 5 May.

The child remains in the intensive care unit in a stable condition.
