Logan is a city of doers – people who see challenges and grab opportunities, people who work hard and get things done.
So many of our local businesses share this vision. That’s why it was a great pleasure to celebrate their success at the 2022 Logan Business Distinction Awards, organised by the Combined Logan Chamber of Commerce and held at Distillery Road Market Hall on August 19.
The 2022 event gave awards across 17 categories, with six major awards given out on the evening. The awards committee received 495 nominations for local businesses, which was a great show of support.
I am also proud that several businesses based in and around the Woodridge electorate made their mark on the night.
As a sponsor of the Manufacturing and Construction award, I was delighted to see Snapfresh snap up the prize.
I recently visited Shalend Prakash and the Snapfresh team at Crestmead. Snapfresh produce over 80,000 high quality meals per day. Since 2001, they have delivered 226 million meals for domestic and international customers.
Arwen and Scott McGregror at Devon Pixies won the Hospitality Category (small). Arwen and Scott’s beautiful teahouse at the recently renovated Kingston Butter Factory is doing its bit for local employment as well as they now have school trainees completing their certificate III at the business.
Woodridge electorate schools and training providers are doing great work in supporting local jobs, and it was a pleasure to see this recognised on the evening.
Marsden State High School and the YMCA Vocation School at Kingston won awards in the Education, Employment and Training category.
Congratulations to president Stewart Fleming and all members of the Logan Chamber of Commerce for organising a fantastic event and to all finalists on their success.
