THIS Sunday, hundreds – maybe thousands – of people in Logan will be out in the parks, waterways, gardens and footpaths doing their bit to help clean up Australia.
Most will be doing it with a smile on their face, because they care enough about their communities and their neighbours to want a tidy environment.
They’ll be doing it with a smile on their face because they’ll be with like-minded people who love the people and where they live.
Deep down however, they have every right to be a little angry at those who year after year create the need for such a clean up in the first place.
They’re the same people who think it’s okay to drop chip packets and fast food wrappers in our beautiful parks.
They’re the same people who think the dumping of rubbish on a vacant block of land is an acceptable thing to do.
They’re the people who put their own convenience ahead of those who live near them.
Sadly, they’re the ones who often have disregard for other aspects of the law.
It’s a simple task. Pick up your rubbish and put it in a bin. We, thanks to council, already have a system which takes care of things after you’ve finished.
It’s simple, just pick up your rubbish
