Steve Wells (MyCity Logan, October 5-11) is clearly impressed with the heirarchy of “respected scientists” who wrote the IPCC Report and their “rigorous peer review process”.
However, peer review is not a wide-ranging investigation or proof of correctness. It is simply a group opinion issued by “scientists” in the sheltered workshop of academia.
It is an exercise which tries to give credence to an unproven hypothesis which has not been, and cannot be, factually proven.
The global warming theory is based in increases in CO2 emissions above “normal” levels, causing temperature increases.
This assumes that normal levels of CO2 produces normal temperatures. In fact, CO2 has no impact on temperature at any level, as was proven during the industrial revolution over 100 years.
Unfortunately, the world’s media is happy to publish and promote the non-science of global catastrophe – it’s good for business.
The regular demonising of coal (but not Avgas or petrol) is also a popular media topic. Could it be that the renewable energy lobby is using its considerable influence to reduce the use of coal?
Our “independent” media organisations seem to have no interest in the truth about so-called global warming.
World leaders have also apparently failed to apply basic scientific logic to their CO2 reduction plans.
