Home destroyed in “aggressive” blaze

An Eagleby home was completely destroyed after a “dangerous and aggressive” fire erupted on the morning of 12 January.

Neighbours told MyCityLogan only one person was inside the Hughes Street home, but she managed to “get out in time”.

However new reports have suggested three people were in the house at the time of the fire.

Seven crews were called to the property at 8.10am and arrived just minutes later.

The blaze was “under control” just before 8.45am and out completely by 9.40am, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said.

Eight people were assessed by paramedics at the scene, but only one was taken to Logan Hospital for cautionary measures.

Neighbours said the fire “came out of nowhere”, and described it as dangerous and aggressive. Image source: Facebook

The cause of the fire is unknown.
