A man in his 70s was left fighting for his life after a lawn mower rolled over at Windaroo Lakes Golf Course on 6 November.
It is understood a ride-on lawnmower rolled down an embankment at the course and into a lake just after 7.30am – trapping and critically injuring a club worker.
Bystanders reportedly came to the man’s aid before emergency services arrived on scene.
According to media reports, a number of golfers rushed to help and a nearby resident wedged himself under the lawn mower to free the trapped worker.
A spokesperson from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the man suffered life-threatening head and neck injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The golf club released a statement online following the crash.
“As you may or may not be aware, there was a workplace accident this morning at Windaroo Lakes Golf Course,” the club said in a post on social media.
