Winter is coming in the Woods, and here are four ideas to stay warm:
- Get a hold of a warm, comfortable blanket, or get creative and make your own
What’s more comforting than a warm, possibly heated blanket? One that you have put together yourself. Experiment with online tutorials, or head over to The Quirky Quilting Co at Springwood to choose your own materials in person and take a few classes. In the cozy June weather, you can both a comfy hobby to keep yourself busy with and a new blanket.
- Enjoy a spa day and warm your body up
Escape the chill and relax in one of the local wellness centres, with mineral spas to improve blood circulation to resist the cold weather, or saunas to sweat out the toxins and relieve the dreaded winter joint pain. Bodicove wellness at Rochedale, Citycave Springwood and P3 recovery Springwood offer different therapies for you to consider and enjoy.
- Stay active and exercise, and have some fun while at it, learning how to line dance
Get active and warm your body up this winter, with multiple activities around the Woods to get your blood pumping. For the more musically inclined, you can try line dancing at The Junction Underwood every Thursday, or go out to Area 51 at Underwood to get a full body workout while having fun navigating the courses. There’s an adults only Neon Night on the Friday, 26 June if you want to avoid the younger crowd.
- Enjoy a hotpot with friends and family
You may not want to get out the barbie, but why not pull out the big pot and have a hotpot night with friends and family. Go to your local Asian supermarket and stock up on soup base packets, sliced beef briskets, assorted vegetables or other of your favourite hotpot ingredients and spend the night with your loving friends and family as they sit around the warm, aromatic soup and share stories.
