A FEMALE firefighter is in a critical condition this morning after fighting a factory blaze at Slacks Creek.
Another firefighter, a female in a serious condition, has also been hospitalised.
QFES deputy commissioner Mike Wassing said the injuries were likely a result of the “serious fire and smoke intensity” in the building.
Mr Wassing said the breathing apparatus safety team were responsible for the rescue of the two firefighters.
Investigations into their injuries are ongoing.
Multiple fire crews were battling the fire which was reported around 2.30am Tuesday morning and were expected to be required well into the day.
A police report issued soon after 7.20am said a crime scene had been declared.
Although the cause of the fire is unknown, police said investigations will continue for the foreseeable future.
There were believed to be a total of 20 fire trucks there to tame the fire.

The Pacific Highway Service Road between Moss Street and Judds Court was closed and motorists were being urged to expect long delays.
Police said people should avoid the area.
Residents of the area were being asked to stay indoors and close all windows.
“Those suffering from a respiratory condition should keep medications close by,” a QFES statement said.
As of early morning, crews were still working to contain the blaze which had sent large amounts of smoke billowing into the surrounding area, including Springwood.
