UPDATE: Due to wet weather this weekend, Croydon Festival has been postponed to March 18.
Food, culture and colours from around the world will come together at a free fun mini-festival on Croydon Road in Logan Central on Saturday 11 March.
Tastes of Croydon will showcase the local community’s diversity, creativity and cuisines from 4pm to 8pm.
Cultures from regions including Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia will be showcased in street food, traditional dancing and soulful song.
The entertainment will be led by renowned steel-pan player and vocalist Alvin Rostant, from the Jimboomba-based Caribbean Arts Company.
Dance and music performances will also be given by the Queensland Kachin Community (Myanmar), the Queensland Madi Community (Africa) and the Heilani Polynesian School of Arts.
Tastes of Croydon is alcohol and pet-free (service dogs excepted) and non-smoking.
Road closures along a section of Croydon will be in place from 6am to 11pm.
