Charity a voice for change

Last week I had the pleasure of joining Jo, the founder of 4 Voices a charity that’s goal is to connect girls and women seeking change.

The charity was founded in 2019 after experiences Jo had in Cambodia with children and young women, and in Australia with people experiencing homelessness.

From these experiences Jo began to understand that self-doubt is widespread, and that low self-esteem can lead to wrong choices, such as unsatisfying or toxic relationships and/or employment.

4 Voices aims to connect people; girls and women to reduce social and digital isolation, domestic and family violence and homelessness through the power of connection – both socially and digitally.

They operate from their Connection Hub a customised van run by volunteers who provide empathy and support at several locations around Brisbane, Logan, and Ipswich. The van is outfitted with coffee and tea making facilities, laptops, phones, printer/scanner/copier, and a TV.

4 Voices can provide support to those trying to enter the workforce or those who wish to change jobs. They help with writing a resume, preparing for an interview, or searching for work.

If you need support with food, housing, or medical advice they can also connect you to appropriate organisations or people who can help.

The volunteers at 4 Voices know that connections change lives, and they endeavour to provide the opportunity for members of our community to achieve that.

4 Voices operate outside of Beenleigh Centrelink every Wednesday morning from 8.30am until 11am.

Thank you to Jo and the volunteers at 4 Voices, for providing this amazing service for our community.
