Upgrades to the busy intersections at Beenleigh are now complete, with authorities promising shorter travel times and safer trips.
Improvements to Alamein Road at its intersections with George Street and Main Street were designed to improve pedestrian access, traffic flow, travel times, and safety for motorists, bike riders and pedestrians.
The George Street intersection upgrade includes:
- new traffic signals
- CCTV camera monitoring
- modified traffic islands
- new kerb, channel and ramps
- landscaping.
The Main Street intersection upgrade includes:
- new traffic signals
- changes to the existing footpath, including a new kerb ramp
- reconstructed traffic nose cone
- new block wall
- pavement resurfacing.
