$10k up for grabs for community groups, clubs and charities

Ten thousand dollars is up for graps for local community groups, sporting clubs, and charitable organisations.

The funding is for groups in west Logan, in and around Jimboomba, to fund new equipment, community initiatives or ongoing programs.

Since 2022, this particular grant program has gifted more than $33,000 to 14 local organiations.

Last year, the funding enabled Emmaus College’s agricultural department to upgrade its cattle yards, creating a safer environment for both students and livestock; the Lions Club of Logan Village to purchase a new barbeque cassette and make modifications to an existing trailer to help host events; and Jimboomba Community Garden to buy a new cage trailer, enabling members to collect mulch, manure, soil, and other large donated items without the burden of hire fees.

“We are passionate about supporting the local organisations that bring people together
and make a real difference in our community,” said Madelaine Tiscia, the project marketing manager at AVJennings, which provides the grants.

“We encourage all eligible groups to apply and take advantage of this funding
opportunity.”

Community organisations can submit applications before the 30 April for a shot at the funding.
