Logan readers can join a monthly book club exploring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories at Logan Central Library.
The Nyeumba-Meta book club will meet from 10am to 11am on Tuesday 14 July in the library’s Nyeumba-Meta Reading Area.
Logan Libraries describes the adult group as a safe and accessible space for community conversations aimed at building awareness of First Nations cultures and histories.
The club has been running at Logan Central Library for more than a decade.
Its name reflects Yugambeh and Torres Strait languages: Nyeumba means “teaching or learning”, while Meta means “house”.
The wider Nyeumba-Meta collection was donated to Logan City Council Libraries in 1998 after the Indigenous Education Unit at Woodridge State School closed.
The session is free and no bookings are required.
