The current owners of 7 Janine Drive, Bahr’s Scrub, spent a year perfecting the presentation of the property before officially putting it up on the market, selling agent from LJ Hooker, Jane Spearpoint, said.
“They’ve put a lot of hard work and love into the property to get it where it is today,” Ms Spearpoint said.
The property was originally built 25 years ago, but has since undergone extensive renovations, both prior to and since the current owners moved into the house five years ago.
“They renovated downstairs, putting in a two-and-a-half-bedroom unit, separate from upstairs, with a new kitchen,” Ms Spearpoint said.
“Upstairs, you’ve got a traditional Queenslander with all the beautiful features, and then downstairs you’ve got a modern apartment.
“It’s really the best of both worlds, if you’ve got your teenagers or your parents living with you.”
The property has five bedrooms and three bathrooms and sits on a 5444sqm block, surrounded by bushland, which would be ideal for families looking for a big backyard, Ms Spearpoint said.
“I’m finding that [large or multigenerational families] demographic is very interested in the dual living potential,” Ms Spearpoint said.
“It’s very hard to find that in a property, so when it does come up, it’s a popular choice for people.
“It feels like a rural property, but you’re still very close to Beenleigh and the surrounding shops,” Ms Spearpoint said.
A mix of locals and interstate buyers has been interested in the property. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms Spearpoint said she had seen a steady stream of interest from out-of-area buyers in the south-east Queensland region.
“We mainly find interstate buyers look for properties close to the beach, but now they are looking to move a little bit further out, because there’s such a lack of properties on the Gold Coast.”
