Armed robbery at Slacks Creek tobacco shop prompts police appeal

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a tobacco shop in Slacks Creek last night, 21 April.

Just before midnight, police said they were called to a shop on Kingston Road after reports that two men allegedly broke into the store and threatened a staff member with a knife.

The pair stole cartons of cigarettes before leaving through the back door, police said.

Police described both offenders as being of Pacific Islander appearance, with solid builds, and wearing face coverings at the time of the incident.

The staff member was not physically injured.

Police are asking anyone with information, or CCTV or dash cam footage, to come forward as investigations continue.
