An opening in an exclusive street

Forestdale’s 25 The Chase is on the market for the first time since the block of land was sold in 1999.

The home is estimated to have been built in the early 2000s, on a 4000 square metre block, with kitchen renovations done during the 2010s.

Estate agent Conor Lynch at Harcourts said the owners have owned the home for almost 26 years.

Home retention is high in Forestdale, Mr Lynch said. On average, homeowners in the suburb sell every 14 years.

“There are not even 1000 homes in the Forestdale area, so homes are pretty highly held onto that’s for sure.

“The Chase is one of those desired streets because not many houses get put up for sale on that street.

“It’s got good frontage, no rear neighbors, and it’s a high set, which is not very common in Forestdale; they don’t come up for sale that often.”

A familiar story follows for the current owners of the property who, now empty nesters, are looking to downsize and explore life’s other offerings.

The generously sized block has now become an issue for them, the very feature that appeals to so many buyers in the current market.

“Everyone likes land, they want more land and more space,” Mr Lynch said.

Multi-generation living has continued to be a ‘trend’ and a sought-after feature in the property market, Mr Lynch said.

“We’re finding people who are looking for properties with granny flats or multiple dwellings. So that’s definitely starting to become more and more popular.”

Within commuting distance from cities nearby, Brisbane and the Gold Coast are both less than an hour’s drive away, and in a school catchment area with multiple choices, Mr Lynch said the property would be perfect for a young family wanting space to grow.

Or for anyone simply looking to claim residence in “Forestdale’s Most Sought-After Street”.
