Dada Krsnapremananda cordially invites you to lunch.
The 67-year-old monk, and yoga and meditation teacher from charitable organisation Seva dharma Mission, serves free community lunches every month at Loganlea Community Centre to those in need.
“I do it for the needs of the people and for the community and this is the motivation of our charitable organisation; to help the people,” he said.
“I found a lot of people, they need support and are low income people. We serve homeless, disbaled, low income people; all mixed groups.”
Mr Krsnapremananda also holds free food distribution in the carpark of ADRA Community Centre each fortnight.
“Our work revolves around the service to the suffering of humanity,” he said.
He became a monk in 1971 and has been a member of FoodBank; setting up tables and giving out food to society’s most vulnerable for years. He says he started out in Sydney before moving to Logan last May.
“I feel that at least someone has to do it to help the community, so I was really happy that I found that area and a place to start,” he said.
“Everybody is searching for happiness, nobody wants suffering.”
He continues this sentiment when he teaches yoga and meditation classes at Loganlea Community Centre every Monday.
“So, happiness only comes from inside oneself,” he said.
“We think that this is the need for the people to be happy and to get connected within oneself.
“When you’re really connecting yourself within, then your mind is strong, willpower is strong, you can make good decisions and you can use your time and your life in a better way.
“So I enjoy serving the community and teaching people to do yoga and meditation.”
